To participate in any Market activities, you need to register and become a Party to the Market Rules. Moreover, to Trade under the Pool, you must be a Pool Participant.

a new Generator who becomes Party to the Market Rules Document has obligations which must be satisfied before its Production Facilities may Participate in the Pool, failure to satisfy can lead to termination of the New Generator as a Party.

The Market Operator administers the process for new Generators to apply to and become Party to the Market Rules documents by entering into the Accession Agreement. A new Generator who becomes Party to the Market Rules document has obligations which must be satisfied before its Production Facility may Participate in the Pool, failure to satisfy can lead to termination of New Generator as a Party.

Applicants must adhere to the requirements set out in the Market Rules Section D.3.2.2 and must provide all required documents and sign all required forms as per Section D.3.23, D.3.2.4 and/or D.3.2.5

To Register:

  1. Applicants download the Registration Application Form from the Market Website.
  2. Applicant prepare the Application and submit it to Market Operator through the following email address: opwp.mo.operation@omanpwp.nama.om
  3. Market Operator will review the application as per the timeframe specified in the Market Rules Section D.
  4. Applicant will be required to pay a registration fee (600 OMR).
  5. Once application is accepted, Party will be granted access to Market Management System (MMS) to completed the registration and supply the required documents. 

A person other than an Original Party wishing to become a Party in the capacity of Generator shall satisfy the following conditions:

  • Unless otherwise determined by the Authority in exceptional cases, must be a company duly incorporated in Oman and registered at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry;
  • Generates or intends to Generate electricity in a Production Facility Connected or intended to be Connected to the Main Interconnected System;
  • Holds, or is able to show that it has reasonable prospects of holding a Generation License or Exemption in respect of such Production Facility; and
  • Satisfy the Market Operator conditions as per the Market Rules.
